Luxury hotel and spa has new luxury bathroom products
Few people put a bath in the same room as their bed, and the luxury of the built in shower and WC cubicle is something I have only seen once before.
Drummond Shaw, company founderIt may seem like a new and exciting idea to put a grand Drummonds' bath into an equally large and sumptuous bedroom. But all Babington House was really doing was being sympathetic to the past.
Babington House is an exclusive private members' hotel and spa in Somerset housed in an Grade 11 listed early 18th century country house. And this past year has seen an extensive programme of renovations including the creation of a traditional stone orangery in the grounds.
XBabington chose Drummonds' products for the refurbishment of the Playroom, the most exclusive of its five individually named and designed bedrooms. A freestanding Spey bath with polished and lacquered exterior, bath plunger and classic feet sits directly behind the four poster bed, ready for a luxurious soak at any moment. The bath is served by Classic bath taps with Mull tap heads in nickel on an H-stand.

Bathrooms within bedrooms were quite common in the 18th century. “As the building is listed all the work was sympathetic to the original building. We worked closely with both English Heritage and Mendip Council to retain the original character” explains Charlie Luxton, Property Director at Babington House.
XPerhaps even more impressive is the shower cublicle, appealingly concealed inside a mirrored box. The Playroom didn't have a bathroom before so we created this fantastic mirror shower room, which is my favourite aspect of the whole room, adds Charlie.

Through the door of the cubicle lies a Brora high level cistern, a throne style walnut toilet seat and a Cam corner basin with more Mull taps.

And just as behind the beautiful historic appearance of the room lies the very latest technology - Sony LCD screens and wireless internet access, so too are Drummonds' stylish and faithfully traditional bathroom products fully equipped to deal with modern plumbing.
Drummond Shaw says: “I'm so pleased with the use of space and the display of our products. We love it when we can see a project completed where budget is of no importance and the look is everything. There were modern twists with classic designs - the end result is stunningly beautiful.”
