WALL SCONCES IN THE BATHROOM
Lighting for bathroom use
Our bathroom lighting is suitable for bathroom use. The wall sconces are approved for damp locations but not for direct contact with water or steam. The lights are also popular outside the bathroom.
We suggest they are used above a sink or near a mirror/ medicine cabinet. They should not be used within a bath or shower area.
All lights need an IP44 rating. This will tell your electrician exactly where they can be placed. Equipment in zones 1-3 must be protected by a 30mA residual-current circuit breaker.
Bathroom lighting zones
For lighting purposes, the bathroom is divided into four zones:
- Zone 0: inside the water (bath or shower), needs an IPX7 rating. Our lights are not suitable for this zone
- Zone 1: above bath or shower to height of 2.25m, needs an IPX4 rating. Our lights are not suitable for this zone
- Zone 2: the area stretching to 600mm outside the bath or shower, and from 2.25m above the bath or shower over 2.25m, needs an IP44 rating. Drummonds lights have this rating
- Zone 3: anywhere outside the other zones. Again our lights are fine for this
